Web Safety Sites for Teens

Web Safety Sites for Kids These sites include games and other great interactive activities. Two thumbs up!

YouTube Videos About Internet Safety Some of these are pretty intense about the danger of sexual predators. View the videos before showing them to your child to make sure you're comfortable with the content and the way the messages are presented.

Note that we post all our videos through Quietube. It's an awesome tool, and we highly recommend it.

Kid-Safe Email Services

Youngsters may not have the computer skills or judgment to have a "regular" email account. Start your child off with a safer alternative though one of the websites below.

Wholesome and Fun Websites for Children

  • Ask Kids This sister site to Ask.com is way more than a moderated search engine. Ask Kids contains fabulous homework help sections as well as age-appropriate games and entertainment news. We love it!
  • Club Penguin This is a classy, well-developed, engaging game geared towards elementary school kids and tweens. An MMORPG/ social network for kids, Club Penguin is carefully monitored and moderated, ensuring a safe game-playing experience for kids.
  • Yahoo! Kids This junior version of Yahoo! provides an ocean of child-friendly entertainment, including games, jokes, and music videos. The study section of the site contains resources such as an online dictionary and encyclopedia, as well as fun scientific facts to get kids excited about learning. Check out the parents' zone to see movie reviews from other concerned parents and learn Internet safety tips.

This part of the wiki is still under construction. This list will be much longer in the not-too-distant future. :) In the mean time, feel free to help us build it by writing articles about websites you and your kids enjoy.
